Affirmations

Affirmations are spoken to ones self for the purpose of increasing faith or hope. Affirmations are not spoken to others in pride. Affirmations reflect the values that one has or that one aspires to have in the future. Affirmations are more powerful when they reflect the Christian worldview as expressed in scripture.

Here are some affirmations that I have written for my personal use.

MY THOUGHTS

My thoughts are a reflection of me

I choose which thoughts I will entertain

I am responsible

I speak truth to myself

God knows my thoughts

He knows me

I allow God to take the reins

He made me

I receive thoughts from God

The mysteries of the universe are His

I ponder the wonders of the universe

I praise God

I accept the truth as He sees me

I allow myself to rise in beauty and holiness

I am imperfect yet curiously wrought

I take ownership of my weakness

I choose thoughts of faith, hope and charity

My thoughts are my stewardship

I express myself in thought and deed

I am of inestimable worth

(Psalms 139)

THE LIGHT OF THE GLORY OF GOD

The light shines in darkness

I allow the light to shine in my heart

I allow the light of knowledge to dispel my doubts

I allow the light of truth to push out all the lies of my negative thoughts

I allow the light of the glory of God to cleanse my spirit

I accept grace for my mistakes

I allow myself to hope

I see with clarity by the light of truth

I see my own growth in the trials of this journey

I see myself reaching up to the light in faith

I accept the light as it penetrates into my deepest sorrows and frees me live in peace

I allow myself to hope that my life is a tapestry woven by God

I seek out truth

I manifest the truth in my thoughts

The light of Gods love shines from within my heart

Grace covers me and lifts me up

I allow hope in Christ to protect me from despair

(2 Corinthians 4)

FOR DOUBTS

I am willing

I allow God’s light to melt away my resistance

I am safe in a place of openness with God

I accept my imperfect understanding

I am a work in progress

I stand on what I know to be true

I react not to the doubts that surface

I ask my questions

I stand in a place of openness to receive the answers I need

I allow the light of truth to warm my inflexible heart

I accept my hard heart as a natural consequence of living in a mortal world

I share my concerns with God

I am open to new ideas

I am willing to move to a place of greater understanding

I am not afraid of my doubts

I am not afraid of my questions

I am enough

I resist all thoughts of self-loathing

I am a work in progress

I will stand in the dark waiting patiently for God’s light

I am calm as I wait

I am holding my question in reverence

I am open to insights into my question

I am willing to journey forward without all the answers

I ask and then wait patiently on the Lord

(2 Corinthians)
